Interestana

Terms of use

Last updated 12 October 2026

In short

  • Interestana is free to read, and you do not need an account.
  • Our news summaries and topic answers are drafted by AI from other publishers' reporting. They can contain errors. Every summary links to its source; check it before relying on what you read here. Nothing on Interestana is professional advice.
  • The AI Index is general information with no guarantee of accuracy: model prices, specs and benchmarks change often.
  • You are welcome to quote, link to and cite Interestana and to use our feeds and JSON APIs, as long as you credit us with a link back, do not imply we endorse you, keep your request rate reasonable and do not pass our summaries off as your own.
  • The original articles belong to their publishers. To request a correction or takedown, email us: we aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 72 hours.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Interestana (interestana.com) is an independent technology news publication published by Khaled Samen, an individual based in Doha, Qatar. “We”, “us” and “our” in these terms mean Interestana and its publisher.

These terms apply to everyone who visits interestana.com or uses its feeds or APIs. By using the site you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use it. How we handle personal data is explained separately in our privacy & cookie policy.

These terms cover the website. If you hire the Interestana Agency, the agreement for that work governs it.

2. Using the site

Reading Interestana is free and needs no account. The Interestana Magazine is an optional email you can subscribe to and leave at any time.

When you use the site, please do not:

  • use it for anything unlawful;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its admin console, its server or its database, or probe, scan or test them for vulnerabilities without our permission (if you have found a security problem, please tell us at [email protected]);
  • send traffic, automated or otherwise, that overloads the site or degrades it for other readers;
  • subscribe other people to the magazine without their permission, or misuse our sign-up and contact forms.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time, and we may block access that breaks these terms or puts the site at risk.

3. AI-drafted content

Most of what Interestana publishes is written by AI. Each news summary is drafted by an AI model (currently Google Gemini, with an OpenAI model as a fallback) from an article published by another news organisation, and is published automatically. The question-and-answer sections on our topic pages are also drafted by AI, from our summaries. We review summaries that are flagged to us and a sample of published ones, but we do not review every summary before it appears. Our editorial process explains how this works.

This means:

  • Summaries can be wrong. An AI model can misread its source, leave out an important caveat, get a name, number or date wrong, or state something the source did not say. A summary is only as accurate as the reporting it is based on, and that reporting may itself be corrected or overtaken by events after we publish.
  • Check the source. Every summary names and links to the original article. Read it before you rely on, repeat or act on anything you read here.
  • Not professional advice. Nothing on Interestana is financial, investment, legal, medical, security or other professional advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or use any product or service. Take advice from a qualified professional before making a decision that matters.
  • Not our opinion. Views reported in a summary belong to the people and publications quoted, not to us.

If you find an error, please tell us (section 7). We correct or take down an article once an error is verified.

4. The AI Index

The AI Index (the model pages, comparisons and the matching JSON) is a catalog of AI models that we compile and update by hand.

Prices, context windows, benchmark scores, licences and availability change often, sometimes without notice, and our entries can lag behind those changes or contain mistakes. The AI Index is provided for general information only, without any warranty that it is accurate, complete or current. The licence shown for a model is our short description, not a statement of its actual licence terms. Before you make a purchasing, technical or legal decision, check the developer's own pages, which each model page links to.

5. Feeds, APIs and reuse

Interestana is built to be read by people and by machines. We publish an RSS feed (/feed.xml), machine-readable indexes (/llms.txt, /llms-full.txt and our sitemaps) and public JSON APIs (/api/articles, /api/digest, /api/ai/models and /api/ai/compare). They need no key and can be called from any website. Search engines and AI crawlers may crawl and index the site as our robots.txt allows.

You may quote, link to and cite our pages, and use the feeds and APIs, including in apps, research, search engines and AI assistants, on these conditions:

  • Credit us with a link back. Name Interestana and link to the article's page on interestana.com (the url field in our API responses). Where you use the facts of a story, credit the original publisher too (the sourceName and sourceUrl fields).
  • Do not imply endorsement. Do not suggest that Interestana endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with you, your product or your content, and do not use our name or logo as your own branding.
  • Keep your request rate reasonable. Cache what you fetch. New articles are added at most about once an hour, and the AI Index changes far less often, so there is rarely a reason to request the same address more than a few times an hour. Do not send traffic that slows the site for others.
  • Do not pass our summaries off as your own. Do not republish our summaries in full or in bulk as your own content, present them as written by you, or sell or license them to others. Quoting a passage with credit and a link, reading our feed in a feed reader, or showing a headline and a short excerpt that links to us is fine.
  • Respect the original publishers. These terms give you no rights in the articles our summaries are based on; those belong to their publishers.

The feeds and APIs are provided as they are, with no promise that they will always be available or keep the same format. We may change, rate-limit, suspend or withdraw any of them, or block a particular user or network, at any time and without notice, including to protect the site or when these conditions are not met.

6. Who owns what

  • The original articles belong to their publishers. Each summary is based on, and links to, an article by another news organisation, which owns that article.
  • Interestana's own material belongs to us: the selection, arrangement and descriptions that make up the AI Index and its comparisons; the essays published under Interestana Editorial; the structure of our topic, interest and keyword pages; and the site's design, code, name and logo.
  • Facts are free. Nobody owns the facts a summary reports. Whatever rights exist in the wording of our summaries and topic answers are ours, and section 5 sets out how you may reuse them.
  • Other names and trademarks of companies, products and AI models that appear on the site belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not mean they endorse us or we endorse them.

Apart from what section 5 allows, and uses the law permits without permission (such as fair use, fair dealing or quotation), please ask us before copying or republishing our material.

7. Corrections and takedown requests

Email [email protected] or use the contact page. Please include:

  • the address (URL) of each Interestana page concerned;
  • what is wrong, or why you want it removed;
  • for a correction, where the correct information can be checked, if you can;
  • for a takedown on copyright grounds, your name and contact details, the original work concerned, and confirmation that you own it or are authorised to act for the person who does.

As our editorial process says, we aim to acknowledge your request within 24 hours and to act on it within 72 hours: to make the correction or take the summary down, or to tell you why we have not, depending on how much verification it needs. When we take a summary down, we also stop our pipeline from summarising that article again. Publishers who object to how we use their RSS feeds can ask us to stop using them altogether.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Interestana is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, that the site, its content, the AI Index or the feeds and APIs will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or free of errors or harmful components.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, its content, the AI Index or the feeds and APIs, or from the site being unavailable. This includes indirect or consequential loss and loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for fraud, or affects any rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, and the courts of Qatar will deal with any dispute about them or the site. If the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, or under your local law, these terms do not take that right away.

Before going to court, please contact us: most problems can be put right quickly by email.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and a change applies from the time it is published here. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply to you.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.

12. Contact

For questions about these terms, corrections or takedown requests, email [email protected] or use the contact page. For questions about personal data, see our privacy & cookie policy.
