Moana Live-Action Remake Cast Revealed

Disney's live-action remake of the animated musical "Moana" is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 10. The film stars Catherine Laga’aia in the titular role of Moana, reprising the journey of the young Polynesian chief's daughter as she sets out to restore the heart of Te Fiti. Dwayne Johnson is confirmed to return as the demigod Maui, a role he voiced in the 2016 animated original. The cast also includes Frankie Adams as Tamatoa, a giant, narcissistic crab, and John Tui as Chief Tui, Moana’s father.
