Cineverse Acquires Horror-Comedy 'Portal to Hell'

Cineverse, in conjunction with its horror division Bloody Disgusting, has acquired the U.S. Video on Demand (VOD) and streaming rights for the horror-comedy film "Portal to Hell." The film, which made its debut at Slamdance and Frightfest, is directed by Woody Bess. This acquisition signifies Cineverse's continued investment in genre content.

A limited theatrical release is planned for "Portal to Hell" before its wider digital release by Cineverse during the summer. The film features a cast including Trey Holland, known for "The Diabolical," Romina D’Ugo from "12 Monkeys," veteran actor Keith David of "The Thing," and Richard Kind.

The acquisition of "Portal to Hell" by Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting underscores the growing market for independent horror and comedy films. The distribution strategy, involving both theatrical and digital platforms, aims to maximize the film's reach among its target audience.
