The Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) is providing its members with access to Cloak, a new software intended to prevent artificial intelligence tools from "ingesting" their content.

According to a WGAE press release, Cloak is a patent-pending software that allows writers to submit their work to producers and other humans while preventing AI "snooping agents" from accessing it.
WGAE president Tom Fontana stated that the partnership with Cloak expands the guild's efforts to protect members' work and combat AI companies that exploit creative workers.
Fontana expressed that members will no longer need to worry about their work being used to train AI models after sending it to producers or agents.
For writers not affiliated with the WGAE, their scripts can still be protected through the WGA script registration process for $10.
