WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto and NEEDLES have launched a compact two-piece menswear capsule collection that prominently features a shared signature motif: a purple rose accompanied by two butterflies. This collaboration focuses on two distinct garments, a crew-neck t-shirt and a reworked cargo trouser, allowing the design and construction of each piece to convey the collection's aesthetic. The short-sleeve crew-neck t-shirt is crafted from a substantial 100% cotton jersey, selected for its inherent durability. Its visual appeal is enhanced by a distinctive two-band tie-dye treatment applied across the body. The inherent variations in hand-dyeing create an uneven saturation, resulting in a tonal depth and a layered, dimensional finish that distinguishes it from garments with printed graphics. The signature rose-and-butterfly embroidery is positioned against this variegated background, serving as a fixed design element on a piece where each garment exhibits unique color variations. The cargo trousers represent the more technically intricate aspect of the collection. WILDSIDE has adapted the H.D.
