The cardholder achieved this by meeting the $60,000 spending threshold within a single cardmember year. The Atmos Rewards program itself emerged following the merger of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, retaining many favorable aspects of the former Mileage Plan program while introducing new benefits, such as the ability to accrue status points on award flights.

The value of the 100,000-point Global Companion Award is significant, especially for couples or those traveling with a partner, as it effectively eliminates the cost of the companion's ticket. Based on TPG's July 2026 valuations, which place Atmos Rewards points at 1.55 cents each, the award is worth approximately $1,550. However, its real-world value can be considerably higher when applied to expensive business-class tickets. The cardholder recently redeemed their award for an upcoming trip to Asia, utilizing it for a one-way business-class flight from Seoul's Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Alaska Airlines' new route. This specific redemption covered 95,000 points plus $33.93 in taxes and fees per person for the companion's ticket.
