REMAX's Chris Lim Joins American Real Estate Association Board

Chris Lim, President and Chief Growth Officer at REMAX, was appointed to the board of directors for the American Real Estate Association (ARA) late last month. Lim stated his decision to join the board stems from a belief in industry collaboration and ARA's focus on practical issues and future industry direction. He expressed a desire to contribute to conversations shaping the real estate landscape.

Lim's involvement with ARA aligns with a broader movement to provide agents and brokerages with more professional representation options, particularly as Multiple Listing Service (MLS) access becomes less dependent on mandatory Realtor association membership. ARA positions itself as an emerging challenger rather than a direct replacement for the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

With over two decades of experience as an agent and in managing a large network of real estate professionals, Lim cited his firsthand understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and evolving business dynamics in the industry. He believes this is an opportune moment to ensure agent perspectives are integrated into ongoing discussions and decisions impacting the sector.

In his new role on the ARA board, Lim will focus on developing an educational framework for ARA members. He aims to create practical and accessible resources designed to elevate agents' performance in the current market. These initiatives could include training on communication, negotiation strategies, and positioning agents as trusted advisors, providing them with tools for immediate application.
