VERDY's 'In Good Company' Exhibition Celebrates Artistic Inspirations at Tokyo's GYRE Gallery

Japanese artist and designer VERDY, a prominent figure in contemporary streetwear and art, has unveiled 'In Good Company,' a significant new group exhibition at the GYRE Gallery, located in the vibrant Shibuya district of Tokyo. This exhibition, running until September 27, serves as a deeply personal exploration of the artistic influences that have shaped VERDY's distinctive creative vision. The show is meticulously curated by Paulo Calle, VERDY's longtime collaborator and creative director, whose partnership has been instrumental in the development of their respective successful brands, Girls Don't Cry and Wasted Youth. The exhibition also features the charming and whimsical ceramic animal sculptures by Alake Shilling and Diana Yesenia Alvarado, adding a touch of playful artistry. Reginald Sylvester II, an abstract painter whose work is characterized by bold canvases, is also represented; significantly, it was Sylvester II who initially introduced VERDY and Calle, highlighting the interconnectedness of the artists involved.
