Uber Eats and wagamama Launch Drift Deliveries in London

Uber Eats has launched a unique "Drift Deliveries" service in London to celebrate the arrival of the restaurant chain wagamama on its platform. This special delivery method is exclusively available to customers ordering from wagamama's Wigmore Street location in London this week. Instead of standard delivery vehicles, Uber Eats is utilizing a custom-wrapped 1998 Toyota Chaser, inspired by Tokyo's underground racing culture and wagamama's "fiery flavors." The car features a metallic red chrome wrap with flame graphics and star-studded wheels.

To further enhance the experience, Uber Eats has enlisted British Drift Champion Ollie Evans to drive the vehicle. Evans will be responsible for ensuring that popular wagamama dishes, such as katsu curry and gyozas, are delivered "piping hot and on time." This initiative aims to create memorable moments for customers, making an everyday food order an unexpected and energetic event, as stated by Merve Basci, General Manager at Uber Eats UK.

Mark Chambers, CEO at wagamama UK, expressed that the partnership with Uber Eats will allow more people across the UK to access their favorite dishes. He highlighted that the "Drift Deliveries" concept captures the energy and passion behind wagamama's food while staying true to its Japanese roots, combining speed, spectacle, and culture. For customers unable to secure a "Drift Delivery" this week, Uber Eats is also organizing a food-inspired drifting challenge. From July 21-23, Uber Eats customers ordering wagamama nationwide can enter an online ballot for a chance to compete in a high-speed activity.
