TypeSafe AI has released Jev 1.14, an update to its System One decision model, which is now available under the jev-preview alias. This new version introduces three experimental features: image input, a box type, and longer context capabilities.

The Jev 1.14 release aims to advance typed decision models for developers working on vision tasks such as inspection and localization. However, TypeSafe AI has noted that none of these three new features are yet ready for production use.
Jev 1.14 offers default context lengths of 64k tokens per request and 32k tokens per question. An opt-in header allows for an extended context of up to 262k tokens. The model runs exclusively on TypeSafe's hosted API via a POST /v1/systemone endpoint, with no open weights or disclosed hardware/quantized variants.

TypeSafe claims small performance gains across the board, with the most significant improvement noted in multilingual support, although public scores are not available. In TypeSafe's Box test, the model successfully identified 30 out of 36 cut-off crops with four edge-check questions. Limitations include that images and the box type are not production-ready, and the box type lacks a "not found" answer.
Jev is a System One model from TypeSafe AI designed to output typed decisions rather than generated text. Users provide a state along with typed questions (Choice, Score, or Noul), and Jev responds with a typed value, probabilities, and a confidence score. The model is trained using Reinforcement Learning for Calibrated Decisions (RLCD).
The Jev 1.14 release brings subtle improvements to most aspects of the model. TypeSafe anticipates the most substantial gains will be in multilingual capabilities. Both Jev 1.13 and Jev 1.14 support image input, requiring the header TypeSafe-Danger-Zone-Images: true. Supported image formats are PNG or JPEG still images, with a limit of up to 16 MiB per image.
