Donald Trump announced on Saturday his intention to establish an "AI Force," a new government oversight group dedicated to artificial intelligence. The proposed group would be led by an AI "czar," who would serve as an artificial intelligence advisor within the federal government. Trump stated his commitment to fostering the growth of the AI industry, asserting, "We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!" He also reiterated his belief that a "STRONG AND SMART" president, alongside the U.S. criminal justice system, provides sufficient oversight for the safe operation of the AI industry.

The announcement was made within a broader political statement where Trump dismissed concerns about AI's potential risks, including existential threats, as a political hoax orchestrated by his opponents.
