Following the commencement of President Donald Trump's second term, his administration initiated substantial reductions in funding for scientific institutions. This resulted in the elimination of billions of dollars in research grants and the dismissal of thousands of federal employees from agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
