The Trump administration has attacked science 574 times. Track each instance with this online tool

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) has launched an online tracker documenting 574 instances of the Trump administration attacking science. These actions, which began on January 20, 2025, with the withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement and a national emergency declaration to expand fossil fuels, encompass a wide range of policy changes and personnel actions. The tracker categorizes these attacks, with nearly 200 targeting climate science, 224 impacting the environment, and 343 affecting public health and safety. Specific examples cited include plans to scrap PFAS 'forever chemical' regulations, halt emissions reporting requirements for polluters, and the alleged targeting of former CDC Director Susan Monarez for defending scientific integrity. Jules Barbati-Dajches, an analyst at UCS's Center for Science and Democracy, stated that these attacks have tangible consequences, limiting access to critical information and services related to severe weather, contagious diseases, and food safety. The tracker allows users to sort attacks by type, such as censorship, the appointment of individuals with misinformation histories, the sidelining of federal scientists, and the politicization of research funding.
