The NAND and DRAM memory components are identified as major cost drivers. Industry analysts project that NAND storage expenses for the 1TB model alone will exceed $250 USD per unit. When combined with DRAM requirements, the total memory expenditure for this model is estimated to approach $400 USD. This nearly doubles typical memory expenditures, with storage components expected to consume roughly 27 percent of the entire manufacturing budget for the new device. In addition to memory costs, secondary technical upgrades are contributing to the financial strain. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is transitioning to a 2nm processor architecture, which involves advanced packaging methods that significantly elevate production expenses. Furthermore, the integration of a new variable-aperture main camera system introduces additional costs due to the complex mechanical technology required for its lens mechanism.
