The 2026 Toyota bZ4X received significant updates, aiming to enhance its competitiveness in the electric vehicle market. Toyota has improved the compact electric SUV's driving range, charging speeds, and acceleration. The updated model now offers an estimated range of 275 miles on the front-wheel-drive version, a 31-mile increase from the previous model year. All-wheel-drive variants see an increase to 256 miles, up from 242 miles. Charging capabilities have also been boosted, with the 2026 bZ4X capable of charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes using a DC fast charger, a reduction of about 20 minutes. Acceleration has seen improvements across the board; the front-wheel-drive model now achieves 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds, 1.3 seconds faster than before. The all-wheel-drive version is 1.1 seconds quicker, reaching 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. These enhancements are attributed to a new motor and improved battery management software. Toyota has also refined the vehicle's handling and ride comfort through suspension tuning and the addition of a new steering system that offers a tighter turning radius, reducing it from 37.7 feet to 34.2 feet. Inside, the bZ4X features a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster, alongside updated safety features and a new digital key functionality.
