Tesla reports 1.74 million active Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscriptions, marking a 67% increase from the previous year. This figure is calculated according to the methodology outlined in Tesla's 2025 CEO Performance Award, which includes owners who purchased FSD outright, some years ago, as subscribers.
Key points
- Tesla has 1.74 million active FSD subscriptions.
- Subscription count includes owners who bought FSD outright.
- Metric is tied to Elon Musk's 2025 pay package.
- Some FSD 'subscribers' bought unsupervised driving not yet delivered.
The inclusion of upfront purchasers as subscribers is significant because achieving 10 million active FSD subscriptions is a key milestone for Elon Musk to earn his 2025 pay package. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of these counted 'subscribers' purchased unsupervised self-driving capabilities that Tesla has not yet delivered.
