Sony releases trailer for Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun

Sony Pictures released the first trailer for "Klara and the Sun" on an unspecified date, directed by Taika Waititi and based on Kazuo Ishiguro's novel. The film stars Jenna Ortega as Klara, an Artificial Friend (AF) seeking a home, who forms a bond with Josie, played by Mia Tharia. The premise, as stated by Sony Pictures, highlights Klara's innocent wonder and loyalty as it helps heal Josie's family, who have experienced loss and have a strained relationship between Josie and her mother, portrayed by Amy Adams. The cast also features Natasha Lyonne as an AF store manager, Rachel House as the housekeeper Melania, Aran Murphy as Josie's friend Rick, and Sophia Bryant-Taukiri as Josie's sister Sal. Steve Buscemi and Harry Greenwood are also listed in undisclosed roles. Taika Waititi, an Academy Award winner, wrote and directed the film, drawing parallels to his directorial style seen in "Jojo Rabbit" and "Our Flag Means Death."
