Salehe Bembury and StudioPROBA Launch "Soft Imprints" Home Collection

StudioPROBA and Salehe Bembury have launched "Soft Imprints," a limited-edition collection of home textiles that merges Bembury's signature fingerprint motif with Proba's abstract, colorful designs. This collaboration, which first began in 2021, is an expansion of their previous "Absorbed Language" line and explores the interplay of pattern, material, and form. The "Soft Imprints" collection features 200 throw pillows and 80 rugs, each designed to be a collectible piece that translates the distinct artistic universes of both Bembury and Proba.

The collection showcases a consistent color palette of bright jewel tones, punctuated by distinct designs. One rug design incorporates fingerprint-like stripes in a colorful bricolage, while another features rounded, circular shapes against a dark blue background. The throw pillows amplify these motifs, utilizing tufting to create tactile shapes. Both designers emphasize their shared exploration of instinct, playfulness, and adventurous creation, with the pieces bridging Bembury's tactile, topographic aesthetic and Proba's bold, emotion-driven works.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, the "Soft Imprints" collection is intended to function as objects for spatial storytelling. The designers describe the collection as a medium where "pattern becomes a record of movement and form becomes a carrier of feeling." The limited-edition Studio PROBA x Salehe Bembury 2026 collection is available through both artists' platforms.
