Piaget Unveils Exquisite Ultra-Thin Polo Minute Repeater, Limited to Five Pieces

Piaget has unveiled its latest horological masterpiece, the ultra-thin Polo Minute Repeater, a timepiece that artfully merges the brand's esteemed legacy in ultra-thin chiming watches with its contemporary sport-chic Polo collection. This new release underscores Piaget's dual mastery in Haute Horlogerie, the pinnacle of watchmaking artistry, and Haute Joaillerie, the realm of high jewelry.

The Polo Minute Repeater is presented in a substantial 48mm case crafted from 18-carat white gold, yet maintains an impressively slim profile of just 9.3mm, embodying a sophisticated balance of presence and wearability. The dial is a spectacle in itself, featuring a partially openworked guilloché design that provides a captivating glimpse into the intricate mechanical heart of the watch. This design choice deliberately highlights the complex Caliber 1290P movement.

At the core of this timepiece lies the self-winding Caliber 1290P, an ultra-thin movement comprising 430 meticulously hand-finished components. This caliber represents the culmination of Piaget's in-house expertise, having been conceived, developed, and assembled at the brand's historic manufacture in La Côte-aux-Fées, Switzerland. The movement is driven by a platinum micro-rotor, distinguished by a rich blue PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating. Further testament to Piaget's commitment to finishing excellence, the caliber boasts hand-beveled bridges, a guilloché mainplate, and mirror-polished hammers, each element meticulously decorated by skilled artisans.

Engineered for exceptional acoustic performance, the minute repeater mechanism is designed to produce a clear and resonant chime, registering 64 decibels of intensity. It strikes the hours on a G-sharp note and the minutes on an A-sharp note, both within the fifth octave, a feat achieved through a downward-activating slide located discreetly at the 9 o'clock position on the case. The watch offers water resistance up to 3 ATM (approximately 30 meters), making it suitable for everyday wear. It is supplied with a sophisticated blue textured embossed calfskin strap, and an additional leather band is also included for versatility.

The creation of such a complex and refined timepiece demands extraordinary labor. Piaget estimates that over 150 hours are dedicated solely to the development of the dial, with an additional 50 hours of hand-finishing required for each individual watch. Reflecting the extreme dedication and skill involved, Piaget will produce a strictly limited run of only five numbered pieces of the Piaget Polo Minute Repeater for the year 2026. Complementing this exclusive release, Piaget has also introduced a breathtaking High Jewellery variant. This exceptional edition features a fully openworked dial and a bezel lavishly set with baguette-cut diamonds, further showcasing Piaget's unparalleled prowess in both haute horlogerie and haute joaillerie.
