Photoshop and Premiere now have AI assistants

Adobe launched AI Assistants for its Creative Cloud suite on June 18, 2024, integrating generative AI capabilities into its flagship applications. The public beta rollout includes AI Assistants for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, marking a significant step in Adobe's strategy to embed AI across its professional creative tools. These assistants are designed to streamline workflows by understanding natural language prompts to perform complex editing and design tasks. For instance, in Photoshop, users can ask the AI Assistant to generate images based on text descriptions, remove unwanted objects, or apply specific stylistic filters. Premiere Pro's AI Assistant can assist with video editing tasks such as generating rough cuts, adding transitions, or suggesting background music. The integration aims to democratize advanced creative techniques, allowing both novice and experienced users to achieve professional results more efficiently. Adobe stated that these AI Assistants leverage large language models and Adobe's own AI research to provide context-aware assistance within the application environment. The company plans to expand these AI features to other Creative Cloud products and further refine their capabilities based on user feedback from the beta program.
