Pennsylvania Couple Finds Snake Infestation In Dream Home

Tyler and Lauren Bouldin purchased a 6,000-square-foot, six-bedroom, five-bathroom stone house in rural Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, in 2020 for $460,000. The property, which had been vacant for over a decade, was found to be infested with hundreds of snakes after the couple and their two children moved in. Videos shared on the couple's TikTok account show snakes on the exterior walls, front steps, and around the property.

The Bouldins have adopted a systematic approach to manage the snake population, focusing on sealing cracks in the home's foundation and removing potential nesting sites like stumps on the property. Tyler Bouldin also acquired a "snake grabber" tool for safely removing snakes from the yard and relocating them to nearby woods. Initially, the couple opted to coexist with the non-venomous black snakes, believing they would deter more dangerous species.

In a 2023 TikTok video, Tyler Bouldin explained their policy of leaving the black snakes undisturbed, noting their perceived role in keeping venomous Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes away. However, this strategy was challenged by the ongoing presence and number of snakes, prompting further action. The couple's experience highlights an unusual challenge in homeownership, transforming their dream home into a significant pest control endeavor.
