Operation Endgame Disrupts SocGholish Servers, Cleans 14,971 WordPress Sites

Dutch law enforcement, in collaboration with Canadian, German, and U.S. authorities, disrupted malicious infrastructure linked to SocGholish and cleaned approximately 14,971 compromised WordPress websites this week. Maikel Rollman of the Netherlands National High Tech Crime Unit stated that these actions deprive cybercriminals of access to infected computer systems, thereby preventing further malicious activity. The operation, dubbed "Operation Endgame," targeted servers used by SocGholish to distribute malware and exploit vulnerabilities in WordPress sites. This coordinated effort marks a significant blow against the cybercriminal group, which has been active in exploiting web platforms for malicious purposes. The cleanup process involved removing malware and securing the affected websites to prevent reinfection.
