A sophisticated phishing scam is currently targeting X users, employing emails that closely resemble the platform's genuine login alert notifications. These deceptive messages are designed to trick recipients into divulging their account credentials, rather than serving as security measures. The scam operates by prompting users to "verify" recent login activity, a common tactic used to create a sense of urgency and encourage immediate action.

Upon clicking a link within the fraudulent email, users are directed to a fake login page that is visually identical to X's official authentication portal.
