Instagram has reportedly failed to adequately address the proliferation of harassment videos captured using Meta's Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, a month after pledging to implement stricter policies. Users continue to encounter content that appears to violate community guidelines, including footage filmed without the consent of individuals depicted. Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, launched the Ray-Ban Stories glasses in September 2021. These glasses integrate a camera, microphone, and voice assistant, allowing users to capture photos and short videos hands-free.
