Meridian Title Corp. Acquires IN Title Company

Meridian Title Corp. announced its acquisition of IN Title Company this week, significantly expanding its presence within Indiana and growing its total office network to 43 locations across Indiana and Michigan. IN Title Company, which serves Delaware and Henry counties in Indiana, will maintain its current operational structure and team. This integration will provide IN Title Company access to Meridian’s advanced technology, broader resources, and enhanced title service offerings.

Jim Smith, co-president and attorney at IN Title Company, stated that the partnership enables them to continue serving clients with a local focus while leveraging additional resources and technology for growth. Jim Trulock, also co-president and attorney at IN Title Company, indicated that discussions with Meridian’s leadership team were a key factor in the decision. He expressed confidence in Meridian as the right partner for both employees and clients.

IN Title Company operates as a full-service title agency with offices in Muncie and New Castle, Indiana, handling both residential and commercial real estate transactions. The acquisition boosts Meridian’s employee count to over 230 individuals. Furthermore, it allows IN Title Company to introduce new services, including 1031 tax-free exchange transactions, tax sale property services, and title services in additional states such as Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Founded in 1938 and headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, Meridian Title offers a comprehensive suite of services. These include title insurance, title research, escrow and closing services, tax sale certification, and support for various transaction types, encompassing residential, commercial, new construction, land development, and default scenarios.
