Louis Vuitton and Alex Israel Launch Woody Wagon Cologne Set

Louis Vuitton and Los Angeles-based artist Alex Israel have launched the Woody Wagon Colognes, a limited-edition sculptural gift set. This new release continues their creative partnership, which began in 2019, by housing six of Louis Vuitton's Cologne Perfumes within a handcrafted miniature wood-paneled station wagon, a symbol of postwar California.

The Woody Wagon set is strictly limited to 66 pieces, a number chosen to reference the iconic Route 66. Its creation involved 60 artisans who dedicated over 7,000 hours to assemble the wagon from 219 individual elements. The materials used include mahogany wood and Louis Vuitton's signature semi-aged natural beige leather, highlighting the Maison's commitment to craftsmanship.

In addition to the central Woody Wagon, three translucent resin travel cases are also being released. Each of these cases is limited to 100 units and is designed to hold specific colognes: Sun Song, California Dream, and Afternoon Swim. These cases offer a more accessible entry point into the collaboration.

This collaboration has evolved significantly since its inception in 2019. Initially, Israel contributed visual identity and packaging artwork for three inaugural colognes. By 2024, the scope expanded to the Ocean BLVD collection, which featured five colognes presented in a two-meter-long miniature of a fictional Los Angeles street, built by 20 artisans over 500 hours. The Woody Wagon represents a substantial escalation in production complexity and time, tripling the artisan workforce and increasing production time more than tenfold compared to the 2024 collection.
