Jesse Eisenberg Eager for 'Now You See Me 4'
Jesse Eisenberg has voiced significant eagerness to film "Now You See Me 4," describing his portrayal of the illusionist J. Daniel Atlas as his "happiest place" on a movie set. Eisenberg shared this sentiment while accepting his honorary President’s Award at the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He contrasted the role of the arrogant illusionist with his typical dramatic performances, noting that embodying the ultra-confident mastermind provides a substantial boost to his on-set morale.
Eisenberg elaborated that playing the character offers a rare psychological departure from his usual roles, which often involve portraying depressed individuals, a process he finds personally draining. "Normally, I play depressed people, which makes me depressed, but playing that confident, arrogant magician, I walk away everyday thinking, 'That was amazing,'" he stated to The Wrap. He also humorously added that it's the only character that allows him to "stand up straight and wear a nicer outfit."
This renewed interest in the franchise follows the successful box office performance of "Now You See Me: Now You Don't," which was released in late 2025. The sequel, directed by Ruben Fleischer, revived the series after a nearly decade-long hiatus since the 2016 film. The cumulative global box office total for the "Now You See Me" franchise has now surpassed $932 million, indicating a strong audience appetite for the magic-heist genre.
