Google Calendar finally has more color options for events

Google Calendar expanded its color options for events this week, increasing the limit from 11 predefined colors to up to 200 custom colors. This enhancement is available across the native Calendar web and mobile applications, as well as through the Calendar API. The update aims to provide users with greater flexibility in organizing and visually distinguishing their scheduled events. Previously, users were restricted to a limited palette, which could hinder detailed personal or professional scheduling. The introduction of custom colors allows for more nuanced categorization, potentially improving time management and event recall. This change addresses a long-standing user request for more personalization within the platform. The expanded color selection is expected to benefit a wide range of users, from students managing academic schedules to professionals coordinating complex projects. The update began rolling out on May 14, 2024.
