General Motors announced on March 15, 2024, that its Ultium Platform will underpin a new generation of electric vehicles, including the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Cadillac Lyriq, and GMC Hummer EV SUV. These models are part of GM's broader strategy to release 30 new EV models globally by 2025, with an investment of $35 billion in electric and autonomous vehicles through 2025. Stellantis is targeting a 100% battery-electric passenger car and light-duty truck sales mix in the U.S. by 2030, supported by its Dare Forward 2030 plan which includes launching 25 new battery-electric vehicles across its brands by that same year. The company has committed $30 billion in EV and software development through 2025. Volkswagen Group aims to become the world's largest EV maker by 2025, with plans to introduce around 70 new electric models across its brands by 2030, supported by a €44 billion investment in electrification and digitalization over the next five years. These efforts reflect a significant industry-wide push towards electrification, with numerous manufacturers accelerating their timelines and expanding their EV portfolios to meet evolving consumer demand and regulatory pressures.
