Formula E reveals first calendar for GEN4 with lots of real race tracks

Formula E announced its 2026-2027 Season 12 calendar on March 18, 2024, featuring a 21-race lineup that incorporates several traditional race tracks alongside existing street circuits. This calendar debut coincides with the introduction of the new GEN4 car, an electric single-seater designed to be more powerful than a Formula 1 car, though heavier and with less downforce. The season will commence with a double-header in Saudi Arabia on December 18 and 19, 2026, marking the only races held that year. The series will then transition to North America in early 2027, with races scheduled in Mexico on January 16, followed by the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Texas on February 7, and the Miami International Autodrome on February 20. The inclusion of COTA signifies the seventh U.S. venue for Formula E since its inception in 2015, expanding its presence beyond previous locations such as Miami's American Airlines Arena, Long Beach, Brooklyn, Portland, and Homestead-Miami.
