EXCLUSIVE: Pregnant ‘Castle Impossible’ Star Daphne Fig and Husband Ian Reveal What It’s Like To Babyproof a 500-Year-Old French Chateau

Daphne and Ian Fig, stars of the HGTV series “Castle Impossible,” are preparing to welcome their first child while undertaking significant renovations on their 500-year-old French chateau, Chateau de Lesigny. Daphne, who is seven months pregnant, and Ian announced their pregnancy on the show, which premiered its second season in May. The couple inherited the 130-acre estate, located 15 miles outside of Paris, from Daphne’s grandfather and have been renovating it for over a year, investing their entire life savings. In addition to the extensive room remodels, the Figs also operate an on-site weddings and events business to fund the ongoing renovations and property maintenance. Daphne estimates that approximately 75% of the four-level domain's renovations are still outstanding. The immediate focus has shifted to babyproofing the historic property, with a nursery already completed. However, many other areas of the chateau, some with exposed walls and nails, require urgent safety modifications before the baby's arrival in the coming months. The couple is balancing the demands of a major renovation project with the imminent arrival of their child.
