Crunchyroll, Goodfellas Board Xilam’s Star-Studded ‘The Wolf’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Xilam Films greenlit its adult-targeted psychological thriller "The Wolf" and is set to begin production soon, with an expected delivery in April 2027. The announcement was made ahead of a Work in Progress session at the Annecy Animation Film Festival. Crunchyroll and Goodfellas have boarded the project, with Crunchyroll handling distribution for "The Wolf" in North America, Latin America, and Europe, while Goodfellas will manage international sales. The film is directed by Jean-Christophe Lie, known for "A Monster in Paris," and features a voice cast including Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy, and Emmy winner Benedict Cumberbatch. The screenplay was penned by Academy Award winner Geoffrey Fletcher, who previously wrote "Precious." "The Wolf" is Xilam's first foray into adult-targeted psychological thrillers, marking a significant expansion of its content offerings beyond its established family-friendly animation.
