BYD Secures 11.3 GWh Battery Deal for Abu Dhabi Solar+Storage Project

BYD Energy Storage secured a significant contract to supply 11.275 GWh of battery storage for Masdar's Round the Clock (RTC) project in Abu Dhabi. This agreement represents one of the largest energy storage procurements ever finalized, underscoring the growing global demand for large-scale renewable energy solutions.

The RTC project itself is poised to become the world's largest combined solar-plus-storage plant. It will integrate a substantial 5.2 GW solar array with a total of 19 GWh of battery storage capacity. BYD's awarded contract will fulfill the majority of this extensive battery requirement, positioning the company as a key supplier in this landmark renewable energy development.
