Bluey to be available in an Australian Indigenous language for the first time

Bluey will be available in an Australian Indigenous language for the first time this week, with five episodes dubbed into Yolŋu Matha. This initiative coincides with National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week. Yolŋu Matha is the First Nations language spoken in North-east Arnhem Land. The episodes selected are from seasons one and two of the popular children's show. Notably, the character Bandit Heeler will be voiced by a founding member of the Australian rock band King Stingray. While Bluey has already been translated into 120 languages globally, this marks its first venture into an Indigenous Australian language. The dubbing project aims to increase cultural representation and accessibility for Indigenous communities.
