As G7 wraps, OpenAI and Anthropic meet with world leaders to discuss the future of AI

The Group of Seven (G7) concluded three days of talks in the French Alps on Wednesday, with a significant portion of the discussions dedicated to the future of artificial intelligence and its global governance. Executives from prominent AI companies, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, participated in these high-level discussions. The meetings, held in Evian-les-Bains, also featured sessions on fostering economic growth, alongside discussions on the war between Russia and Ukraine and a tentative deal to end the Iran war. U.S. President Donald Trump was present for these sessions before departing for Washington. The G7 member nations are France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.S., and the United Kingdom. Several guest nations, including Brazil, Egypt, India, Kenya, South Korea, Qatar, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates, also attended the summit.
