Anthropic releases its first Mythos-class model Claude Fable
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5, its most powerful widely available AI model, on June 20, 2024. The company stated that Fable 5 demonstrates exceptional performance in software engineering, knowledge work, and vision, with its lead over other models increasing on longer and more complex tasks. Anthropic reported that Fable 5 achieved a score of 90.2% on the MATH benchmark, a 5.7% improvement over its previous model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet. In coding benchmarks, Fable 5 reached 85% on HumanEval, a 7% increase from Sonnet, and 92% on MBPP, a 5% increase. The model also shows improved capabilities in image analysis, with Anthropic claiming it can accurately describe complex scenes and extract information from detailed diagrams. Fable 5 is available through Anthropic’s API and on claude.ai, with a tiered pricing structure for API access. The release positions Fable 5 as a direct competitor to other leading AI models in the market, aiming to capture a larger share of enterprise AI adoption.
