Ann Demeulemeester's Spring/Summer 2027 pre-collection, designed by Creative Director Stefano Gallici, establishes a fluid dialogue between the fashion house's established design codes and new seasonal explorations. This collection is intended to run parallel to the main collection, which is set to debut in October. The designs are inspired by personal travel and collected artifacts, rather than a single historical muse, and reinterpret traditional silhouettes with a soft romanticism and a subcultural edge.

Textural experimentation is a key feature, with the collection blending rugged utility with delicate fabrications. Tailoring emphasizes structured silhouettes with slimmer proportions and subtle flared lines. The range revisits house staples such as hussar jackets and leather biker jackets, while also introducing new aviator jackets as part of the brand's ongoing outerwear development. These structured outerwear pieces are contrasted with fluid Edwardian-inspired slip dresses made from layered silk chiffons, textured poplins, and fine jerseys.

The color palette further emphasizes this duality, moving from deep blacks in Japanese cottons and satins to shifting whites including ivory, chalk, and ecru. Neutral tones are accented by pink shades, appearing in all-over floral prints and dévoré jacquards on crêpon textures. Light blue and yellow-stained denim washes are incorporated into front-zip workwear jackets. This collection aims to create a striking balance between darkness and romance, honoring the brand's foundational aesthetic.
