Andrew Garfield Leads Peasants' Revolt in 'The Uprising' Trailer

Focus Features has officially released the debut trailer for 'The Uprising,' an upcoming medieval historical action drama directed by Paul Greengrass. The film stars Academy Award nominee Andrew Garfield as Wat Tyler, a farmer who becomes a revolutionary leader during the 1381 English Peasants' Revolt. The trailer showcases the high-stakes conflict and the rebellion against oppressive taxation and the rule of the 14-year-old King Richard II.

The narrative centers on Wat Tyler's journey from a humble farmer to the head of a populist rebellion. As armed conflict spreads across England, Tyler rallies an army of commoners to fight for justice and survival. The film aims to bring the historical events of the 14th-century revolt to the big screen with intense action and drama.
