American Airlines Opens New Grab-and-Go Lounge at JFK

American Airlines announced plans to open a new grab-and-go lounge at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) by the end of 2024. This new outpost, named Provisions by Admirals Club, will be located within Terminal 8, the airline's hub at JFK. The concept is similar to a quick-service club that debuted in Charlotte last summer, but the JFK location is expected to offer enhanced amenities.

The Provisions lounge at JFK will provide a selection of hot and cold meals and snacks. It will also feature a full-service barista coffee bar, serving Lavazza coffee, which American Airlines designated as its signature espresso brand in 2023. This grab-and-go format is designed to help alleviate overcrowding in the main Admirals Club lounges by offering a faster option for passengers seeking only coffee or a quick bite.

This new facility will be situated near Gate 12 in Terminal 8 and will be accessible via an escalator from Concourse B, an area from which many of the airline's long-haul flights depart. American Airlines already operates a full-service Admirals Club lounge at JFK, in addition to premium lounges jointly managed with British Airways.

The Provisions by Admirals Club concept was first introduced at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in August 2023. The JFK location is anticipated to be larger, measuring 3,700 square feet and capable of accommodating up to 40 guests, suggesting a more substantial offering than its Charlotte counterpart.
