Agentic AI commerce comes to Samsung’s smart TVs

Samsung Electronics launched an agentic commerce experience on its smart TVs in the United States this week, integrating AI software from Glance, a company owned by InMobi. This new feature allows Samsung smart TVs, running on the Tizen operating system, to facilitate AI-powered interactive shopping through voice commands or remote control. Users can create shopping lists, explore products, and make purchases directly from their televisions. The integration is compatible with Samsung TVs released from 2020 onwards, building upon existing AI features like Vision AI announced last year. Maya Harris, Samsung's vice president of business development and strategic partnerships, stated that this integration brings the television to life as a centerpiece of the home, offering personalized and intelligent shopping experiences. Industry data indicates that approximately 55% of new smart TVs sold in 2025 incorporated generative AI features, and the global AI TV market is projected for significant growth, with other brands like Sony, Panasonic, and LG also developing AI-integrated TV experiences.
