Anthropic AI Models Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Get Global Release

Anthropic's newest AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, have received global release following the lifting of US export curbs. This development occurred approximately three weeks after the Trump administration identified the models as potential national security risks. Anthropic confirmed in a blog post that Fable 5 is now available worldwide, while US organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. The company is actively collaborating with the US government to extend Mythos access to a wider array of domestic and international partners through the Glasswing program. This program facilitates access for cybersecurity researchers at trusted companies to utilize Mythos for defensive cybersecurity measures.

In a letter addressed to Anthropic, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that the company will no longer require a license for exporting or transferring its Claude Mythos and Claude Fable AI models within countries. The letter acknowledged Anthropic's proactive measures, undertaken in close coordination with the US government, to effectively mitigate the identified risks associated with these advanced AI models. The US government's decision to lift the export restrictions signifies a resolution to the national security concerns previously raised regarding Anthropic's technology.
