Adobe adds its AI assistant to Premiere, Illustrator and InDesign

Adobe integrated its Firefly generative AI into its Creative Cloud suite on April 15, 2024, enhancing video editing and design workflows. The AI assistant, now accessible within Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, offers features like generative fill and text-to-image capabilities. This expansion aims to streamline content creation by allowing users to generate and modify assets directly within their primary design and editing applications. For Premiere Pro users, Firefly can assist with tasks such as background removal and object replacement, while in Illustrator, it enables the creation of vector graphics from text prompts. The integration in InDesign focuses on generating placeholder text and images for page layouts. Frame.io, Adobe's cloud-based video collaboration platform, also receives AI-powered review and annotation tools. Adobe stated that these updates are designed to democratize advanced creative capabilities, making them accessible to a broader range of users. The company also announced updates to its Firefly generative models, including improved control over output and expanded language support, aiming to provide more precise and versatile creative tools.
