2028 BMW iM3

BMW announced the upcoming 2028 iM3 electric sedan on May 15, 2024, marking a significant shift towards electrification for its performance M division. This model is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering an estimated 500 horsepower, a substantial increase from its internal combustion engine predecessors. The iM3 will also incorporate an 800-volt architecture, enabling faster charging speeds, with a target of adding 200 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes. BMW plans to utilize a new generation of battery technology, potentially offering a range exceeding 350 miles on a single charge. The interior will showcase a minimalist design with a focus on sustainable materials and advanced digital integration, including a large curved display that houses both the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Production is slated to begin in late 2027 at BMW's plant in Dingolfing, Germany, with initial deliveries expected in early 2028. The pricing is anticipated to start around $90,000, positioning it as a premium electric performance vehicle.
