Teen Hacker Extradited to US for Scattered Spider Charges

A 19-year-old individual accused of participating in the Scattered Spider hacking group has been extradited from Finland to the United States to face federal charges. The U.S. Department of Justice announced the extradition on July 1. The suspect, identified as Peter Stokes, a dual U.S. and Estonian citizen, appeared in a Chicago federal court on June 30. A judge ordered Stokes to be held in custody following his appearance.

Scattered Spider, also known as PINCHY SPIDER, is a cybercrime syndicate that has been linked to numerous high-profile attacks targeting telecommunications companies, casinos, and other businesses.
