XPeng L03 Ships Google Maps Auto SDK First for APAC Automaker

XPeng announced on its global launch of the L03 in Munich that the electric SUV coupe is the first vehicle from any Asia-Pacific automaker to ship with Google Maps’ Auto SDK integrated. This significant technological adoption marks a new milestone for automotive innovation originating from the region.

The integration of Google Maps' Auto SDK replaces XPeng's existing overseas navigation stack with Google Maps data. This provides drivers with a familiar and robust navigation experience, leveraging Google's extensive mapping capabilities. The enhancement is expected to improve user convenience and accuracy for drivers operating the vehicle internationally.

More critically, the Auto SDK enables the feeding of map data directly into XPeng's NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) and XPILOT ASSIST driver-assistance systems. This capability is now available for the L03 when operating outside of China. The seamless data flow allows the advanced driver-assistance features to utilize real-time, detailed map information, potentially improving the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving functions.
