Xiaomi YU7 GT sets another Nurburgring record – with nobody in the driver’s seat

Xiaomi set the first official autonomous lap record at the Nürburgring on May 28, 2024, with its SU7 Max electric vehicle. The car completed the 20.8-kilometer Nordschleife circuit in 7 minutes and 22.6 seconds. This achievement builds on a previous record set by the SU7 Max in March 2024, where it recorded a lap time of 7 minutes and 5.38 seconds with a human driver. The autonomous run was conducted by a modified SU7 Max, equipped with advanced self-driving technology developed by Xiaomi's AI division. The company stated that this demonstration showcases the potential of autonomous driving technology in high-performance automotive applications.
