Wrangler and imogene + willie Launch Vintage Americana Denim Collection

Wrangler, a denim brand with nearly 80 years of history, has partnered with Nashville-based imogene + willie to launch a collaborative collection that emphasizes authentic domestic craftsmanship and heritage design. This collaboration grants imogene + willie access to Wrangler's extensive archives, including original patterns, vintage visual assets, and rare fabrics, to create a collection that honors the legacy of classic Americana denim. The initial release features deadstock, rigid selvedge denim sourced from the Cone Mills White Oak Mill, a legendary facility in denim production. This first drop includes a reproduction of the 1964 10MW jean, a style that was only produced for a single year, and the 10WW jean, a tailored adaptation designed with a higher rise and fitted waist for a flattering feminine silhouette. Complementing the denim offerings is a limited-edition Studio Tee adorned with custom Western artwork, inspired by the all-over graphic prints popular in the 1990s. The second release, scheduled for October 24, will shift focus to rugged broken twill denim and woven fabrics developed in collaboration with Mount Vernon Mills, which is noted as the last remaining large-scale denim mill in the United States. This installment will reintroduce iconic jean styles from the 1950s, including the "Cowboy Cut" 13MWZ jean for men and its female counterpart, the 14MWZ. These jeans will be available in washed indigo and black finishes, featuring traditional details suitable for riding, such as flat copper rivets and flat-felled inseams. The jacket selection for Drop 2 includes the zip-up 11MJZ denim jacket and the 12MJZ "championship" jacket, historically awarded to rodeo champions. These jackets are recreated in overdyed, sunfaded cotton twill. The collection also includes woven 27MW Western snap shirts, screen-printed graphic tees, and fleece crewnecks, all sewn in the USA. The final rollout on November 7 will feature more deadstock Cone Mills White Oak selvedge denim in distinctive colorways, including black, brown, and other unique hues, further underscoring the commitment to utilizing rare and high-quality materials. This multi-drop collection aims to provide consumers with meticulously crafted pieces that blend historical significance with contemporary wearability, all while celebrating American manufacturing and design.
