Woman Accused of Shooting at Rihanna’s $14 Million Beverly Hills Home Found Mentally Fit To Stand Trial

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old woman, has been found mentally competent to stand trial for a March shooting incident targeting the Beverly Hills residence of global music superstar Rihanna. Ortiz faces severe charges, including one count of attempted murder, ten felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited property. Prosecutors allege that Ortiz traveled from Florida to the singer's $14 million mansion on March 8, armed with an "AR-15-style rifle," and discharged multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. The gunfire reportedly impacted Rihanna's main dwelling, a camper situated on the grounds, and a neighboring property. At the time of the shooting, Rihanna, whose full legal name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky (born Rakim Athelaston Mayers), were inside the camper. According to reports from the Associated Press, two bullets struck the window of the Airstream trailer but failed to penetrate, while a third bullet hit the trailer's side. Alarmingly, a bullet hole was also discovered on the exterior wall of the second-floor nursery, a space occupied by Rihanna's three young children and their nanny at the time of the attack. Law enforcement apprehended Ortiz approximately eight miles from Rihanna's home at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center. She is currently being held on a substantial bail of $10.2 million. Los Angeles County prosecutors have characterized the shooting as "willful, deliberate, and premeditated," underscoring the seriousness of the alleged intent. The Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office has confirmed that Ortiz will be represented by a public defender for the attempted murder charges. Authorities have confirmed that no individuals sustained physical injuries during the incident, a fortunate outcome given the circumstances.
