WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto and MOONSTAR have launched their first collaborative sneaker, a reworked version of MOONSTAR's GYM CLASSIC model. This collaboration follows a previous partnership between S’YTE and MOONSTAR. The new GYM CLASSIC is presented in a singular, all-black colorway, reflecting WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto's signature aesthetic. The design is rooted in a training shoe that was originally produced in the 1960s, emphasizing its heritage and functional design. The sneaker is constructed from durable cotton canvas, a material chosen for its longevity and classic appeal. It features a fully blacked-out rubber sole and a matching black toe guard, contributing to its monochromatic and understated appearance. Subtle detailing is introduced through pale cream piping that runs along the eyestays, providing a delicate contrast to the dominant black. This piping is complemented by matching cream contrast stitching around the various panels of the upper, which serves to enhance the graphic quality of the otherwise restrained design.
