New TV Shows Debut: Ted Lasso, Star Wars: Visions, The Shards

This week's television schedule, spanning Sunday, August 2, to Saturday, August 8, features the highly anticipated season four premiere of Apple TV+'s "Ted Lasso." The narrative follows Lah Kara's journey as she navigates her destiny in a galaxy far, far away.

Also debuting on Wednesday is "The Shards," a new series premiere on FX and Hulu at 9 p.m. Eastern. Adapted from Bret Easton Ellis's semi-autobiographical horror novel, the series is set in the 1980s and centers on the lives of affluent students at L.A.'s elite Buckley prep school. Their seemingly idyllic adolescent existence is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious new student, portrayed by Homer Gere. This unsettling arrival coincides with the violent activities of a local serial killer, suggesting a dark and suspenseful narrative. The adaptation is from Ryan Murphy, known for his work on other FX series, promising a distinctive tone and style for this teen thriller.
